this section tells you a little bit about mere components as a company - what makes us tick - why we do what we do and most importantly what you can expect from us should you decide to give us your custom.

a short history

The idea to start a company arose back in early 2004. At that time I was heavily into building and riding push bikes for dirt jumping and often found that commercially available spares and upgrades weren't up to scratch... As "necessity is the mother of invention" I started to put together designs and ideas for my own products; I also thought that it would be great to set-up a small company to source or manufacture and resell these products. After some deep meditation and a few beers, 'mere components' was chosen as the slightly toungue in cheek name, and things went from there.

In mid 2005 the idea and 'theme' of the company took a sudden turn when I passed my driving test and bought myself a 1967 Triumph GT6 Mk1. My passion for classic cars grew rapidly and I was soon having ideas for classic related products and upgrades. I still wanted to start a company, so this time - slightly older and wiser - I did!
